Curiosity is a wonderful thing! From time to time a topic comes up that peaks my curiosity, and I need to examine the topic a little deeper. In an attempt to keep my examination at least a little coherent, I try to construct it into a sort of white paper. Some of these are included below, and I would like feedback on these.

Venezuela – I got concerned about the activity of the Venezuelan government about 5 years ago and pulled some information that would substantiate my concern. Since then, matters have only gotten worse. What do you think?                 Venezuela – The enemy below
A friend asked me to look into waste disposal and the generation of energy from waste disposal. I was surprised to learn how this is done and the potential it has to offer.
Waste to Energy - A friend asked me to look into Waste disposal and the generation of energy from waste disposal. I was surprised to learn how this is done and the potential it has to offer.
Global Warming has been a hot topic (no pun intended) for some time. When I began to examine the pros and cons and whether man played a significant role in global warming and the production of dangerous levels of carbon dioxide, I went to a presentation of this topic by Burt Rutan. He thoroughly debunked the dire claims of the alarmists and put the topic in proper historical perspective. The introduction to his report is – Rutan Intro, and here is a link to his website for the complete report,

Several years ago my wife and I went on tour of China. We always wanted to see China, and in particular those areas that would soon be flooded with the completion of the Three Gorges Dam. It was a great trip and I was so enthused that I compiled the photos in a record of sorts and got a copy right on the document. Caution, because of the large quantity of photos, it takes quite a while to complete the download.           Our China Experience 2005

American Productivity -Productivity in America is a long term trend, and perhaps a hallmark of the American culture. The trend of a decreasing percent of the population engaged in production of agricultural and manufacturing products has been declining so that about 10% of the population now produces all of the agricultural and manufacturing output.

American Energy policy - America has more fossil fuel energy resource than any other country in the world, yet America inports oil and borrows money to pay for it. A responsible energy policy would have a goal of America being a net exporter of energy products and using the funds to pay of the debt.
